Following the successful launch of Digital Orchestra: Youth in 2023, we are now opening this opportunity up wider to include school leavers, and those attending different schools.

Digital Orchestra: Youth will create and nurture new musical communities of disabled young people to explore their musical potential, learn digital instruments, form new friendships and achieve musical and personal goals.

In the first part of the launch of Digital Orchestra: Youth, we opened up sessions to young people in Orchard Brae School in Aberdeen, Kingspark School in Dundee, and Castlebrae School in Edinburgh. These sessions are designed for young people still in school to access music sessions with digital instruments within their own school setting while still attending school.

These out of school sessions will build on this work with all of these students, and also young people who have transitioned out of school into adult life, or who are attending from different schools.

These sessions will be taking place in the following venues:

  • Digital Orchestra: North East based at Mackie Academy, Stonehaven – Wednesdays 3.45pm-5pm from 24th January 2024.
  • Digital Orchestra: Central at Kingspark School, Dundee – Thursday evenings time and start date TBC
  • Digital Orchestra: Edinburgh at Castlebrae School, Edinburgh – Thursday evenings time and start date TBC

These sessions are open to upper secondary age young people and those transitioning out of school into adult life. Sessions are free to attend.
