Drake Music Scotland is delighted to announce that the Proclaimers launched our new recording studio on Thursday 13 May. This state-of-the-art facility at our base in Craigmillar Edinburgh will promote the work of talented musicians with disabilities and has been made possible with support from the Big Lottery Fund.
Drake Music Scotland Chief Executive Thursa Sanderson says “We are delighted our Patrons Craig and Charlie Reid are opening this wonderful new facility which will give our musicians the chance to write, play and record their own music. They will be able to make CDs to share with friends and family, and upload their music on to YouTube and other social networking sites so it has a much wider impact. Music has this fantastic power to transform lives – it’s something that everyone enjoys and this will be a wonderful opportunity for people with disabilities to give pleasure back to the community through their songs and music letting everyone hear how much talent they’ve got”.
