Drake Music Scotland has been taking part in the world’s biggest arts festival with two exciting performances at this year’s International Festival and Fringe.
In partnership with Distil and the Just Festival, Drake Music Scotland’s ensemble Equilibrium presented a concert of new pieces on 22 August to a riveted audience in St John’s Church Hall. Equilibrium, gives a platform for talented disabled musicians performing their own compositions on traditional celtic instruments and new music technologies.
Just over a week later, Drake Music Scotland joined up with Scottish Chamber Orchestra to take part in a special concert (see image above) to an audience of over 1000 school children at the Ross Bandstand on 31 August – the final day of the 2015 Festival. Drake Music Scotland has been working with SCO Vibe to enable young people with disabilities to take part and the concert was the culmination of a full week of workshops for over 40 young musicians which took place earlier in the summer.
Drake Music Scotland is grateful to The Daisy Chain Trust for support of our partnership with SCO Vibe and to the MacLennan Trust for support of Equilibrium.
