Drake Music Scotland came away with two prizes at the prestigious New Music Scotland Awards last night –
- Royal Conservatoire of Scotland RCS Award for Contribution to New Music in Scotland
- Incorporated Society of Musicians Prize for Collaboration with Ben Lunn – Composer and Conductor, Hebrides Ensemble and The Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh.
In addition, Composer Ben Lunn won the RCS Award for Making it Happen for our PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development Partnership supported commission Diversions.
Drake Music Scotland was also nominated for Scottish Music Industry Association Award for Creative Programming which was won by Matthew Whiteside.
The award ceremony, hosted by Tenor and Broadcaster Jamie MacDougall and originally planned to be held at Dundee V&A, was streamed on youtube with recorded contributions from award presenters including Nicola Benedetti.
