After a short summer break, our Musicspace project is back and packing 9 bands (ranging from heavy rock to folk), 40 one-to-one sessions and 2 music tech courses into our studios at SPACE every week.
As well as meeting new people with similar interests, Musicspace provides disabled people of all ages with opportunities to learn a challenging new skill which can help boost confidence, self esteem and communication skills. Participants can learn to play music in the style of their choosing (e.g Rock, pop, jazz) from a huge range of traditional instruments and inclusive music technology and to the level they aspire.
Of course, we couldn’t do any of this without the invaluable support of our funding heroes…
The RS Macdonald Charitable Trust , Bank of Scotland Foundation and the Boshier Hinton Foundation for support of our band tuition programme.
The RTR Foundation and the Gannochy Trust for support of our Music Technology course for school leavers with disabilities.
