Drake Music Scotland supporter Martin Johnson has signed up to run the Edinburgh Marathon on 26 May 2013 and has been getting into training in recent weeks.
Martin says “The longest race I have done to date has been 10km so entering the marathon is a bit daunting. Still I’m sure I can do it, and raising lots of money for Drake Music Scotland is a great reason to get out there and pound the streets – if you’ll pardon the pun! My training regime is now in place – long runs every Sunday morning, followed by a nice big lunch!”.
Martin has been donating to Drake Music Scotland for three years since the death of his father, the Scottish composer and musicologist, Dr David Johnson. ‘I was looking for a good cause to support in his memory with a musical linkage and the work Drake does is really worth getting behind. My target for this race is £1,000, so hopefully we can raise that’.
