From Sunday 16 to Thursday 20 March, Drake Music Scotland are presenting Transmission – a new audio-visual installation at Howden Park Centre created by composer Niroshini Thambar in collaboration with older people including some with dementia, living in care homes in West Lothian.
Illustrated with music and sounds created and inspired by participants such as Second World War Spitfire Pilot Frank Roberts and photography by acclaimed artist Anne Binckebanck, Niroshini has created a powerful and moving portrait exploring the fascinating relationship between music and memory.
The commission has been created with support from Creative Scotland, West Lothian Council Challenge Fund and the PRS for Music Foundation.
