A BBC film crew visited our Junior Digital Orchestra rehearsal today to film a piece for this year’s BBC Children In Need which will be broadcast on BBC Scotland on Sunday 18 November.
Orchestra members Greta and Ethan who have physically disabilities were filmed playing music using digital technologies which enable them to learn to play, compose and perform with others. For example, Greta uses her eye movements to play by choosing to look at different areas of a screen that has been set up with eye-tracker software. Each different area can be programmed to play a different note and sound of musical instrument.
BBC Children In Need is supporting this Friday afternoon group for disabled young musicians for 3 years.
