Training course in how to use new studio gets Drake ready for running new community recording projects

Drake Scotland musicians have been taking part in an intensive training course, funded by the Scottish Arts Council YMI Training & CPD Fund, learning to use our new state-of-the-art recording studio.

Under the expert guidance of professional sound engineer Sam Richards and Drake’s own Rick Bamford, the group learned techniques from microphone placement to editing processes.  Although the participants went into the training with different levels of recording experience, all came out with the confidence to setup and make recordings with all the latest equipment in the studio.

These skills will soon be put into practice as Drake embarks on an ambitious programme of recording projects working with local groups supported by the Big Lottery Fund.
